THOUGHTS FROM LIZ
Christmas greetings to you all, where has the year gone????
Seems like it was not that long ago I was wrapping up Christmas presents, making Christmas Cakes and now I’m doing the same thing again. It seems like the years are getting shorter, or are we just all so busy, the days fly by. As many of us who are retired seem to say “I’m just so busy I don’t know how I found time to work “
What a wonderful five-day Lower North Trip we have just had. It was so good and Dave and I realised that there are so many places in New Zealand yet to be explored.
A huge thank you to those from our events Committee who put so much time and effort into making it such a great trip for all who were able to come.
I would personally like to mention, Raewyn Bourke for arranging all our accommodation, with help for the Orewa part from Murray & Corrie Jamison, Bruce MacDiarmid and Jo Spry for the Orewa part of the Trip & Phil Barron for the Trip from Orewa to Whangarei, and all the Itinerary for our time there, and Doug Payton for the Café visit and Marsden Point Oil refinery virtual Tour.
We do have 5 different club members who have kindly taken the time to complete a description of each day.
This is our last Magazine until February’s edition next year. Peter Davies our Editor does such a great job of the Magazine that it’s nice for him to be able to have a wee break in December.
We are having our Concours in January this year, and we are hoping for confirmation from a Special Guest Speaker who is home from the UK visiting Family for Christmas. This promises to be a good event.
February Art Deco Trip – As was mentioned in our last Magazine we do have some limited extra accommodation that we have been able to have held for us until the 15th December so if you’re able to come we would love to have you join us.
John Bourke has been putting a lot of time and effort in to make this a really great trip away for us all. Please contact me if you’re interested.
Dave and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas, and hope that 2019 will be the best year ever for you.
Enjoy your loved ones around about you, and take care out there on the roads as we want to be able to enjoy your company again in 2019.
Warm Regards to you all,
